The itinerary starts from the Filetto forest, in front of the Oratory of San Genesio. After having crossed the historic village of Filetto, continue (evident signpost) along the stretch of the Via Francigena to the locality of Cerreta, where there is a fascinating wooden bridge over the Bagnone stream.
After crossing the bridge and making a steep climb, you cross the rural village of Virgoletta, characterized by the Malaspina Castle and the ancient fountains. Once in the locality of Batalasco, leave the Francigena and, on asphalt, proceed in the direction of Merizzo. From Merizzo you go down to La Conca, near the Civiglia stream and then you reach the locality of Deglio, where a steep climb on a dirt road begins that leads to Cassolana, a village in the municipal area of Bagnone.
From the village you go up, on an asphalted road, towards the village of Gabbiana and from there to Greciola. Once in the village, take a dirt road, uphill, immersed in the woods, common signpost with route 24, until you reach a crossroads that leads us first to the church of San Terenziano and then to the rural villages of Pieve, Vespeno and Castiglione del Terziere. Once in Vallescura, route 22 rejoins the blue route 20 and the return takes place through Bagnone, Nezzana, Malgrate and the plain of Mocrone.
