Departure from the Pieve di Sorano heading north, with a short stretch on the state road to Migliarina where the trail enters the Protected Area of the Magra River. From here, first follow the route of the Via Francigena up to a large riding school and then the well-equipped Nature Trail that will take you to Lake Frantoio and then return to the Pieve di Sorano.
The itinerary takes advantage of easy dirt roads and paths, crossing an agricultural and flat landscape where it will not be difficult to spot different species of migratory birds as well as resting at the break areas which are present.
NB: Itinerary very suitable for children, with the possibility of avoiding the state road by accessing the Protected Area directly from Via Quartareccia located in front of the parking lot.
